Prostatitis

Definition:

Behind every definition (we could find hundreds of them…), let’s say the truth, your arrival here means that you’ve understood just one thing: doctors don’t know much about prostatitis and for this reason they treat it as a mere psychosomatic illness.

Now, let’s suppose this is true, if that were so the solution would be easy: you should simply understand that you don’t suffer from any medical disease and everything will be all right, here you are! You’re recovered!

Unfortunately things are not so simple. Prostatitis come unexpectedly, without knocking, she’s really impolite.

What does provoke it? Sometimes the reason is a previous trauma caused by work stress or troubles with the partner, often the cause is a wrong way of feeding or a growth of bacteria after a sexual relation, or the reason could also be connected with intestine problems such as constipation or malabsorbtion that could cause a travel of bacteria from the urethra to the prostate. And that’s pain!

I have noticed that a high percentage suffer or suffered from varicocele and many of them have spinal problems and/or previous episodes of alopecia (recent studies published in Medlin show how the predisposition to prostatitis increases in subjects who lost their hair, this is the reason why some products may have benefits for both hair or prostate health).

But what about prostatitis? What do we do with it now?

Usually the next step is a calvary among doctors, urologists and andrologists: the one tells you are healthy, the other treats you with antibiotics for an entire month or makes you do a great amount of  blood tests, the last prescribes you Viagra; an urologist made me suspicious after having asked me in which internet site I found his contact....

For those who have a noninflammatory form of prostatitis doctors usually make do the Chlamydia test until they found something worth to be treated with antibiotics. The situation doesn’t change, sometimes it gets worse.

Ehr, well, I was just about to forget an important thing! When the andrologists after the ntibiotic treatment realize that you’ve still been having the same problems there are statistically two possibilities:

1)      If he works in the free profession he will reassure you, treating you with more antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs and after a mere prostate palpation he will tell you: “we’re on the right track” and so, keep on taking mictasone, ciproxin and so on. If you are fortunate you’re going to spend 150 euros.

2)      If he works for the state, no problem! You’ll need a psychologist.

Symptomatology

Sometimes prostatitis symptoms are not so easy to distinguish, some other time you become aware of it indirectly, that is to say after having consult a urologist because of your erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, decreased libido or frequent urination.

The most frequent cases I get in touch with are:

a)      a tight pants feeling

b)      a severe perineal discomfort (usually a foreign body sensation located between the hip and the left testicle, this keep the subject from staying on for many hours).

c)      discomfort in the sacral region near the spinal column down to the sciatic region

d)      frequent or very frequent urination

e)      intestinal troubles and painful urination

f)       hematuria  (presence of blood in the urine) that fortunately is not so frequent

These are definitely the classical symptoms that will bring the reputable urologist to suspect that is facing a form of prostatitis. Sometimes prostatitis is associated with varicocele but probably this last symptom is a consequence and for this reason the most important thing to do is operate varicocele only after having coped with prostatitis!

As I was saying at the beginning, you can have an asymptomatic prostatitis but in case of erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, decreased libido it is probable that your prostate isn’t doing its duties!

Causes of prostatitis

It’s a common mistake to associate prostatitis with a sexual transmitted bacterial inflection. If this is true for the gonorrhoea infection, this is not the same for prostatitis, which statistically is not sexually transmitted, or better, this is the most improbable cause ( I had to do indeed with many people who had taken precautions and two boys who wrote me hadn’t even had a sexual relation yet).

My experience brings me to the conclusion that prostatitis is usually connected with:

1)      Nutritional disease> that often brings with it intestine troubles

2)      Anxiety> that locates stress and pressure in the “low region”.

3)      Colitis

4)      Excessive use of nutritional supplement that can cause kidney troubles

5)     Alopecia: there are several studies that have found analogies between prostatitis and alopecia. It seems indeed that people having an excess of Dht (the active metabolite of testosterone) have a predisposition toward losing hair and toward prostate inflammations.

Consequences

As it has been said before, these are strictly connected with these causes:

·        premature ejaculation

·        erectile dysfunction

·        infertility

·        discomfort in testicles

Possible remedies

Regarding the way of facing this illness, every doctor has is professional training, or someone can say his “professional bias”.

Surfing the internet you can find the web site of Guercini whose therapy is based on prostate infiltration. The comments that his ex patients have left on the several newsgroups are not so much encouraging (but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t get any).

You can also find the Minister Sirchia’s clinical evidence, which has been addressed tto all Italian doctors, in which it is claimed that nowadays it doesn’t exist a study demonstrating the effectiveness of infiltration in the cure of the prostatitis itself.

There is also the Rando web site. He really gives rapid answers, this is true, but I haven’t found someone yet who’s recovered following the Sat- therapy, nor who has got better (that doesn’t mean, however, that there aren’t any at all). Anyhow, you must consider that, what with one thing and another, you could spend even 2500 euros (more or less 200 euros per month).

The classic approach implies the taking of a great quantity of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory over a very long period of time. Although at first you could see slight improvement you will easily go back at the former situation.

The homeopathic method consists of a personalized cure protocol. It could be effective in the long period not in the short one. If someone has had positive results, please let us know!

The phytotherapy approach is a cure protocol working both on the bacterial problem (when needed) and on the psychophysics one. This method is directed to regenerate not only the prostate but also the entire organism.

The nutritional path I want to suggest you

It’s not easy to suggest the same nutritional and/or dietetic path for everybody. For this reason, the first thing I usually do is to ask the patient his history in order to focus the attention on some elements that could be the real cause of his disease. The next step is to determine a cure protocol on the strength of these elements, a protocol that could act on several levels and that will take into consideration the psychophysics problem, the bacterial and viral component of the disease and the libido element (the latter, when present, become obviously a matter of primary importance).

On the whole I would like to reassure you: I’ve been dealing now with prostatitis for five years and so far, I have always gotten positive results.

Anyhow, I will be at your disposal to follow you step by step in order to find your best solution and your best diet (very important for the nutritional path)
